| Digital experimental teaching is a kind of teaching method that under the guidance of the traditional teaching theory, students complete experiments and record results by means of sensors, digital microscopes, computers and other equipment with the aid of modern information technology. In recent years, China has gradually established the Digital Lab in schools in some areas, Wuhan starting in 2014. Aims of this study are to summarize the domestic and international experience of construction and teaching of Digital Lab, and to explore its current application situation, advantages and limitations in high school biology teaching and the feasibility of indigenization in Wuhan.First, we summarize the application status of digital laboratory, identify the contradictions between theory and practice on the basis of a large number of theoretical research literature and teaching practice papers of primary and secondary school teachers. Second, the application status of digital laboratory in biological teaching in Wuhan high school was indicated by the survey and interviews of some provincial high school in Wuhan. Earlier experiences of Shanghai carrying out digital teaching and the analysis of application situation of biological digital lab in Wuhan middle schools showed the advantages and limitations of the digital laboratory in the biology teaching application. Finally, the existing experimental conditions of the Wuhan municipal model high school are summarized, and the feasibility of digital experiment teaching is analyzed.Teaching practice papers of primary and secondary school teachers showed that the digital equipment does not match with the actual experimental needs of high school. Excessive theory is difficult to carry out in practice, or practical problems are not supported in theory. The obvious contradiction between theoretical research and first line teaching resulted in the promising prospect of the digital laboratory in high school and the actual low laboratory use rate. Digital Lab has many advantages:open, rich, accurate, simple, efficient, intuitive and quantitative, which determine the student’s interest. Digital teaching makes the teaching method more diversified, teaching time more free and the teaching content more rich. However, these advantages can only be realized in a part of high school biology experiments. For other experiments, the digital lab is worse than the traditional experiment, and even has no application space. Like the provincial model high schools, Wuhan municipal model high schools need digital lab, and have had better conditions to carry out related experiments.In summary, our study revealed problems and difficulties of the digital lab application in the new experimental teaching. The strengths and limitations of the digital lab were presented for teachers to exchange and discuss. The feasibility analysis of digitization laboratory in municipal model high school of Wuhan city will help its application in Wuhan. |
