With the continuous development and the deepening reform of Chinese higher education, college teachers’ career development is demanded more than before.Facing the social environment of increasing talents competition and universities’ importance of talent, the demand of professional development for teachers, especially young college teachers has become stronger. Currently, more and more young teachers take the place of old ones, they have become an important component of college teacher group. They are very valuable for society and colleges. However, Chinese universities have carried out a series of personnel system reform in recent years, including the implementation of engagement system, evaluation system, degree qualification improvement system and job promotion system, young college teachers are under heavy pressure of study and work. At the same time, young college teachers are in particular age, they are facing the need to marry and have children, and other major events in life, the pressure becomes higher..In recent years, more and more reports reveal the plight of young college teachers. High work pressure, difficult career development, low remuneration have become labels of Young Teachers’ difficult situation. "Green pepper", "Worker bees" are also known as their synonymous. Under the multiple difficulties, young college teachers are suffering physical fatigue, mental anxiety, reducing work enthusiasm and so on. The growth and development of young teachers is seriously affected.Therefore, the research on influence factors of young college teachers’ career development has a very important practical significance.The demand level performance, the influence factors and advice of career development for young teachers in J university is researched in this paper based on Maslow’s hierarchy of needs theory. This paper consists of five parts:The first part presents the background, importance, theoretical and practicalsignificance of the study. Then the concept and connotation of young college teachers’ career development is explained.The progress and status of the research on young college teachers’ career development is presented by searching related literature in second part. As the theoretical basis of survey compiling, Maslow’s hierarchy of needs theory is further analyzed.The research methods of this paper is introduced in the third part: literature study and survey study. The surveys are compiled for reliability and validity testing, then they are given to volunteers. Finally the data of effective surveys is counted and analyzed.The influence factors of young college teachers’ career development in J university is empirical analyzed in the fourth part: gender, work experience, education level, work difference and so on.The fifth part makes an active exploration about how to promote the career development of young college teachers in J university reasonably, and provides new management suggestions: Universities should establish the dominant position of young teachers in training and development, government and universities should take active measures to concern the basic survival needs of young teachers and Universities should focus on their individual development needs.The investigation in this paper shows the key influence factors of the career development of young teachers in universities, and find the degree of influence.The study brings new ideas to promote professional development of young teachers in universities and provides suggestions for the development of young teachers in universities.It is of great and practical significance to promote young college teachers’ professional development.
