Research On The Problem Of The Lack Of The Spirit Of Tolerance Of Contemporary College Students

Tolerance is not only the traditional virtue of our country, but also the noble quality of the contemporary society. Tolerance is an important standard to measure whether an individual has a good conservation and an open heart. As the successors of socialistic modernization, the cultivation of undergraduates’ spirit of tolerance is very important. It has a great influence on the development of social civilization and the construction of harmonious society. With the continuous deepening of economic globalization, the growing trend of multi-polarization pattern of the world, the increasing of multiculture and multiple values, complex social background and social atmosphere bring some concept, such as the money worship, hedonism and individualism, that is not conducive to the development of physical and mental health of college students. These students gradually showed a series of problems lacking of spirit of tolerance, such as selfishness and indifference. This paper mainly researches on the problem of the lack of the spirit of tolerance of contemporary college students, and is divided into the following four parts:The first part is the introduction. In this part, it takes the mainly topic goal and the significance of this paper, and domestic and foreign theory literature summary about contemporary university students lack the spirit of tolerance. It can be seen that the current domestic and international research on the issue of tolerance is more, study on countermeasures of college students lack of tolerance problem is relatively less, which is also the innovation of this paper. This part also introduces the research methods of the paper.The second part is the overview of the spirit of tolerance of college students. In this part, after I have a interpretation of the two different cultural background about tolerance, I proposed about the understanding of meaning of the tolerance and the spirit of tolerance, and pointed out the condition and limit of tolerance, summed up the specific contents of college students’spirit of tolerance and the significance of cultivating college students’ spirit of tolerance.The third part is the analysis of the reason and performance of contemporary college students lack the spirit of tolerance. Contemporary college students lack of tolerance is mainly manifested in the personality narrow and selfish, the attitude of crankiness and arrogance, interpersonal indifference and the behavior of impulse control. I analyzed the specific reasons for these problems and pointed out the nature of man’s self protection and the lack of education of tolerance in family, school and society three aspects, combined with those performance.The fourth part is the analysis of countermeasures of contemporary college students’ lack of tolerance. The school is the main position of the education of students training, but an important role cannot be ignored in family education and social education for students to cultivate the spirit of tolerance. The family is the most important place for college students to be born and grow, harmonious family relationship and parents’ good educational mode can influence and infect college students to cultivate the spirit of tolerance. Campus culture and tolerant education for students to cultivate the spirit of tolerance play a crucial role. Society should create a free and harmonious environment, so that students can understand and feel tolerance, become a person of tolerant.
