Ethics of university professors is a hot issue in today’s Chinese society. It is necessary to strengthen the construction of university professors’ ethics in the new era of China. It not only inherits and continues the Chinese nation’s traditional ethics, but also satisfies objective demands raised by modern Chinese society. Chinese society’s development requires a high-level of higher education to provide intellectual support, and excellent university professors are vital for the development of higher education. Moreover, the ethics construction plays an important part in training excellent professors. From a certain point of view, the issues concerning professor ethics are often manifested in the form of teachers’ mental activity, such as the working attitude and recognition degree of their occupations. Such external manifestations of ethics are produced by both external influences and professors’ mentality. Research works, which combine professor ethics construction and professors’ mental health, are still in their infancy. And in Shaanxi Province, there was no previous research work focusing on this topic. Our work first investigates on the related literature; then based on the practical situation of Shaanxi Province, we find out the breakpoint from professors’ mental health; afterwards, we identify the relationship between professors’ ethics and their mental health; finally, we collect data by questionnaire survey and analyze the data. According to the data collected, the impact of mental health on the professors’ethics is verified, and our methodology of university professor ethics construction is proposed based on the concept of mental health. Research methods used include:literature data investigation, the design of questionnaire, mathematical statistics, comparative analysis, and summary induction.
