College is a crucial period of time in which students’ world outlook and views on values are formed. College students are vulnerable to the negative influence of all kinds of factors because of the severe mental impact caused by mental mechanism and which seriously affect their normal life and learning meanwhile add family burden to them, even affect the overall progress of the society. Mental health education system for college students and Physical Education majors are required to present a thorogh investigation about the mental health of current college students and a deep understanding of the mental health status of physical education majors, as well as comprehesion of the factors of mental health of students. It is basis for colleges and universities to understand all the important prerequisite for targeted mental health education and then improve the efficiency of mental health education. Starting from the mental health status of physical education majors, this paper conducts a survey of the status of mental health of Physical Education majors in comprehensive universities in Sichuan, analyze its situation to further strengthen and offer reference for mental health education in universities. This research is based on comprehensive universities in Sichuan Province, by means of literature review, questionnaire survey method, surveyed and analysed on physical education students about their mental health in six local comprehensive universities. Through the use of CL-90 questionnaire test, the results show that average students who are physical education specialty keep a healthy mental status, not appear extreme mental health problems. Through the test that overall scores of those students is lower than the norm of national college students, adults and youth; that mental health of physical education professional students in Sichuan Province is in good condition. While the score ranked in the top four factors were obsessive-compulsive, interpersonal sensitivity, hostility and depression. When physical education majors face the pressure of studying technology of sports and cultural theory of learning, they are prone to experience emotional changes too fast and strong. Despite their personality is outgoing, cheerful, but because there is no easy solution to the pressure, they are clined to get psychological imbalance, mood disorders. The characteristics of sports competition and fierce competition will lead to their excessive tension caused by sports games, and also cause their psychotic symptoms and obsessive-compulsive tendencies. Because the curriculum and teacher settings of physical education departments in these six colleges and universities are similar, the difference is small. Meanwhile the differences of students are smaller. There is no significant differences of mental healgh among these students for both genders who are invovled in questionnaire in the six local comprehensive colleges and universities; at the same time, after a comparison of the results of the survey, the psychological health of students in these six different university is of no significant difference.
