As the most developed education country of the world, the United States always pay lots of attention on science education, and the level of the American science education can be thought as the leader of the world. Besides, the United States have their own characteristics of science teacher training, and have already obtained lots of successful experiences. Compared to the United States, the science education in China is still in the exploratory stage. After years of development, the science teachers training has made some achievements, but compared to the United States, we still have a long way to go. In this paper, by comparing the pre-service and pro-service training between China and the United States, the successful experiences of American science teachers training can be used as a reference. After completing the training system of Chinese science teachers, the high quality science teachers can be cultivated and the development of Chinese science can be promoted.The comparisons of science teachers training between China and the United States mainly focus on professional standards, pre-service training and pro-service training. When comparing the professional standards, the NSTA standards (2012 edition) and NBPTS standards (2014 edition) of United States are selected to compare the Chinese new middle school science curriculum standards (2011 edition) and Chinese middle school teacher’s professional standards (2011 edition), and concludes that the design of Chinese science teachers professional standards should be started from professional knowledge, professional skills and professional attitudes. The comparison of pre-service training mainly focuses on training mode, training objective and curriculum provision, and concludes that the science teachers’ pre-service training should enrich the training mode, complete the training objective and improve the curriculum provision. The comparison of pro-service training mainly focuses on the policies and regulations, the training objective, the training mode and the teacher’s qualification certification, concludes that the Chinese science teachers pro-service training should perfect the policies and regulations, enhance the training objective, enrich the training mode and complete the system of teacher’s qualification certificate.
