The nature of learning is to pursue self-improvement constantly. And human authentic learning should be voluntary, active and full of desire. Thus educators need to transform study into students’ inner desire as their responsibility. As the Basic Education Curriculum Reform (trial implementation) clearly points out that the task for elementary period is committed to cultivate the students’ independence and autonomy; to arouse the students to question, investigate, explore and learn in practice; and to promote students to study initiatively and creatively under the guidance of teachers. That is to say, the teachers-centered traditional teaching mode is no longer suitable and urgent to be reformed to the students-centered new type teaching mode. With the comprehensive implementation of new curriculum reform, profound and positive changes take place in the basic education classroom, the circulating-knowledge teaching method is gradually transformed into the new way which concentrates on students’ autonomy, cooperation and exploration with the teachers’ direction. The guided learning plans this study refers to are written by students corresponding to the teaching plans used by teachers in class, which are researched and compiled through collective and individual lessons preparation. The guided learning plans are instructed by the new curriculum standard and the demands of quality-oriented education to foster students’ independent learning, active participation, cooperation, exploration and optimized development. Guided learning plans are also called "Guided-Learning-Plan Teaching Mode". Teachers compile the guided learning plans based on their own teaching experience and students’ practical English ability. And "Guided-Learning-Plan Teaching Mode" applies learning plan as carrier, teachers’ instruction as dominant and students’ autonomous learning as main body to complete the teaching tasks cooperatively. Its purpose is to arouse the students’ self-study ability and cooperative consciousness, carry out the concept of new curriculum reform, eventually realize the ideal of high-effective classroom. This thesis consists of five chapters. Chapter one serves as the introduction part, analyzing the research background, research motivation and research significance. Chapter two presents theoretical bases of guided-learning-plan teaching mode as well as its relevant study both at home and abroad. Chapter three mainly describes the research methods, purposes and object. Chapter four shows the analysis of the statistics and explore the existing problems during compiling and applying guided learning plans. Chapter five intends to put forward some related solving strategies and concrete measures. Chapter six summarizes research achievements, reflect the deficiencies and introduces author’s further study in the future. This study is to investigate the problems arising during the application of guided learning plans in senior ELT, hoping to optimize teaching effect with some proper proposals and realize the high-effective teaching advocated by the new curriculum reform. |
