By researching on the new curriculum theory and modern education and teaching literature, it is not difficult to find that the teaching design concepts and principles advocated by the constructivist teaching theory and the concepts advocated by the new curriculum reform ideas coincide. This paper demonstrates the scientific nature, rationality and operability of constructivism teaching theory from two perspectives: theoretical research and empirical research. And by researching the construction of the teaching theory and the traditional teaching design ideas comparatively, this paper expounds that the construction of teaching theory is more in line with the characteristics of students’ cognitive law. And based on the look of the plight of the traditional high school geography classroom teaching design, under the guidance of the principles and ideas of constructivist teaching theory construction, this paper make a research on high school geography classroom teaching design and applied consistently to the actual classroom from the aspects of the design of teaching aim, design of teaching process, teaching resources and environment design, method and means of teaching design and teaching evaluation design.This paper focus on the application of constructivism teaching theory in high school geography teaching design.First of all, the author analyzes the main problems existing in the design of traditional geography teaching and finds that traditional classroom teaching design of geography so excessively emphasizes on the leading role of the teacher in the teaching and teachers’ experience and knowledge of teaching materials that the students become the passive recipients. These problems have become the shackles to promote the reform of education and teaching.At the same time, the author gives a comprehensive exposition of the teaching theory of the doctrine of high school geography teaching design idea based on constructivism from the aspects of teaching objectives, teaching resources, teaching environment, teaching methods and teaching evaluation. And give a demonstration through the concrete teaching case of construction doctrine teaching.Finally, by combining with the specific case of the teaching effect, this paper comparatively evaluates the traditional teaching design and the design of geography teaching guided by the constructivism theory. The results show that the construction doctrine teaching design can better promote the knowledge learning and the students’ comprehensive quality improvement.
