On The Cultivation Of Good Social Mentality Of College Students In Ideological And Political Education

Social mentality is the "barometer" in the process of social development. It not only reflects people’s ideal pursuit and mental state, but also will influence people’s thoughts and actions, and social value orientations directly. The report of the Eighteenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China put forward the requirements of strengthening and improving ideological and political education, pay more attention to humanistic care and psychological counseling, to foster self-esteem, self-confidence, rational calm, and positive social mentality. It shows that our party and state, Chinese government and society attaches great importance to the problem of social mentality. College students are entrusted with the hope of the nation and the future of the country, they are the driving force in today’s social development and reform. Thus, whether the social mentality of college students is positive, it not only affects their personal growth and development, but also relates to the future construction of socialism and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. Therefore, to cultivating good social mentality of contemporary college students has become one of the important tasks of the current ideological and political work in colleges and universities.Based on cultivating the good social mentality of college students as the starting point and the foothold, combined with the fundamental principle of ideological and political education, from the introduction and three parts to research on the cultivation of good social mentality of college students in ideological and political education. The introduction part mainly elaborates the purpose and significance of writing this paper, the current research status at home and abroad, methods and innovations. The first part is on mentality, social mentality and good social mentality of College Students’ basic concept definition, discussing the influence factors of social mentality and analyzing the basic nature of the characteristics of College Students’ social mentality, and it also illustrates the significance of cultivating college students’ good social mentality. The second part is about the present situation of the college students’ social mentality, analyzing the current social mentality of college students from positive performance and existing problems, emphatically from the society, culture, education and themselves four aspects to explore the causes of college students’ bad social mentality. The third part is the focus of this thesis, which mainly discusses on cultivating path of college students’good social mentality in ideological and political education. From strengthening college students’life education, improving the mental health education, and expanding their interpersonal relationship three aspects, to putting forward new ideas on cultivating good social mentality of college students, so as to providing beneficial reference from the perspective of ideological and political education to cultivate good social mentality of college students.
