The exploratory learning and teaching is a kind of teaching way that encourage students to ask questions, analyze and apply knowledge to answer the question. Under the background of new curriculum standard, ancient poetry is an important part of Chinese teaching in senior school, but there are some problems in actual teaching. It is generated from the traditional and single Chinese teaching to make students learn ancient poetry actively and cooperatively. Therefore, the research on the Chinese ancient poetry exploratory teaching and learning in senior high school has both theoretical value and practical significance.There are four chapters in this thesis.Introduction, the first chapter, talks about the main contents and methods of research, shows that the significance of the topics, and the definition and main concept of the topic and the research’s purpose.The second chapter is mainly related the origin of the exploratory teaching development and the learning content of ancient poetry in Chinese Textbooks in senior school. Combined with the requirements of new curriculum standard to carry out the necessity of exploratory teaching and learning in Chinese ancient poetryThe third part is respectively the investigation to the situation of ancient poetry teaching in a senior high school and analysis of the causes. I design the questionnaire and through the data of the statistical analysis, we can find the current teaching problems in the appreciation of classical poems. The investigation shows: in the study of ancient poetry, students’ interest to learning ancient poetry is not strong and their basic knowledge is unstable. Students have utilitarian learning purpose, just to cope with the examination. Teachers pay more attention to test-prep tricks in the teaching of Ancient Poems and ignore the cultivation of the students’ ability to explore.The fourth chapter puts forward the strategy of Chinese ancient poetry exploratory teaching and learning in senior high school, and show the specific teaching case. Teachers can try to use some strategy to carry out the Chinese ancient poetry exploratory teaching and learning. For example, introducing poetry to stimulate students to explore interest;creating situation to guide further exploration;establishing a theme to organization cooperation exploration.
