Education and economic development are inextricably linked. Education can promote economic development by improving the quality of labor, science and technology level, the level of innovation and other means. Rural education for rural economic development has an equally important role. Urbanization continues to advance today, with the rural population mobility increased, investment in rural education will not only affect rural economic development in the region, but will have links to the economic growth of their neighboring province. For the urbanization rate is increasing, and the rural population continues to migrate, the impact of rural education investment on rural economic growth, associate with specific level of economic development, urbanization level of the different provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions and showing a different state.This article establish spatial panel model based on Cobb- Douglas production function, according to rural economic data of the Chinese main land 31 provinces from 2001 to 2011, using GM estimation in R software to know the relationship between investment in rural education and rural economic growth, as well as rural education spatial spillover, and studied after adding urbanization as exogenous variables into the model, how the relationship between investment in rural education and rural economic growth changes. The results showed that: Before the introduction of urbanization, the provincial investment in rural education has a positive role in promoting rural economic growth. Rural education investment in neighboring province has restrained the rural economic growth, while the remaining variables influence on rural economic growth are weak; and after the introduction of urbanization, the influence of each variable on rural economic growth tends to equilibrium. When taking urbanization and rural economic development into account, the promotion of investment in rural education for rural economic growth is more evident.
