With the increasing time people spent on leisure, Golf should be considered as a leisure option for the public. Young people is a very important group to bring the golf into the public. It’s important to understand the interaction between the golf and youths. This thesis is focused on youths’cognition of golf and golf influence on them. The survey is also being done in Taiwan area, which can be used to make comparison with survey in Mainland of China.Overall, the youth in both areas highly approve of golf as a sport and as social Leisure. Youth in both areas agree that the cost for golf is expensive. Meantime, youths have different opinions on the ecologic functions of golf course. Youths in 2 areas have significant difference in cognitions of the price playing in the driven range and golf course, the price to buy golf products, golf as a sport option, golf course as a place to make business contract and whether plants in golf course could fresh the air. Based on the statistics analysis, the reasons that influence youth cognition in this study are Education level and Interaction level with golf.Different analysis methods are used to analyze the data. Most young golfers in Mainland of China have instinct motivation and identified regulations in the research, which means that they have higher Self-Determination. The involvement of young golfer is significant correlative to the wellbeing which means that deeply involvement of golf could improve the youth’s wellbeing.The value of golf to youths, and suggestion of correct their cognition bias is discussed. Three suggestions are:Improving Youths the interaction with golf by set golf class in the University; giving youth some discount when they playing golf; Developing multifunctional golf course to attract their interesting and improve the interaction with the public which could contribute to the good reputation for golf.
