Along with China’s social transformation and the diversification of the ideology, people need more mental health education and care, because they are encountering more and more psychological conflicts, setbacks, and realistic stress in the aspects of values, social manners, interpersonal relationships, and career choice. The mental health education, as an important part of ideological and political education, is urgently needed to tackle the new problems people nowadays are facing. And the micro courses of mental health education that is developing rapidly provide effective and viable solutions to those new problems.The research focused on the construction process of the micro courses of mental health education. In a way of combing the theory with practice, the paper explored the practical path of the online multimedia micro courses of mental health education in the following four parts on the basis of the experience accumulated over the years through the construction of a large number of courses on the teaching platforms such as the national high-quality resource-sharing courses, the national open-video courses, and the Chinese college MOOC courses.Part one is in fact a review of the background and significance of the present research. It pointed out that the construction of the micro courses of mental health education had necessary and complementary value for cultivating socialist core values and building a cyber cultural education space. With the popularity of mobile multimedia devices, the booming development of open education resources and the urgent need for strengthening the construction of high-quality learning resources, the micro courses for mental health education has great prospects for further evolution and development.Part two illustrated the following philosophies, principles and objectives by introducing the construction process of the series micro course of Contemporary Youth Psychology.1. The construction philosophy:seeking balance between scientific knowledge and general education; offering good learning experience by adopting student-centered teaching method.2. The construction principle:sticking to open, fair and honest academic conduct; stimulating positive mental energy and passing on the socialist core values; adhering to equality and mutual benefit between teachers and students.3. The goal of construction:putting emphasis on both the construction of the course system and the fragmentation of knowledge; creating the course brand, increasing the course enrollment and the passing rate; refining constantly the solid course construction experience and building an elite course construction team.Part three elaborated on the implementation path for the construction of the micro course series of Contemporary Youth Psychology, including the preparation process, the construction process, the feedback from and the interaction with students, as well as the summary of practice.Part four pointed out that the micro courses of mental health education would continue to play an important role in the future development of higher education and the construction of cyber cultural education space for the national mental health education.
