Howard Gardner, World famous educational psychologist, psychology Professor of Harvard University, firstly advanced the Multiple Intelligence Theory in 1803. After that, the Multiple Intelligence Theory had an affect on education. The Multiple Intelligence Theory pays more attention to the students’ individual differences, stresses on students’ all- round development. Therefore, the Multiple Intelligence Theory has an important and far-reaching significance on solving the problem existing in English education and promoting the development of quality education. The author wants to use the Multiple Intelligence Theory effectively for reference to solve the practical problem existing in English teaching class. In this study, we focus on The Research of middle school English reading Teaching Strategy from the Perspective of Multiple Intelligence Theory on the base of the understanding of this theory.This study firstly elaborate the Multiple Intelligence Theory in detail on the base of research literature, then the author uses the questionnaire method, classroom observation, interview and test comprehensively to learn the students’ intelligence situation and also discovers the main problem existing in middle school English teaching. On the base of understanding the students’ reading class situation, this study takes the method of being grouped according to their reading and intelligence ability, each student has his own intelligence advantage, teacher can carry out activities respectively and improve the weak taking advantage of group mutual aid in this way.On the base of the theory’s guiding and the findings of an empirical study, this study includes the principles, strategies and steps of Multiple Intelligence Theory. The innovation of this paper is that based on Multiple Intelligence Theory to set goals and teaching methods of teaching junior high school English reading, make specific recommendations teaching mode and teaching strategies, combined with modern advanced educational philosophy and multi-modal teaching methods, according to the feedback gives by students and teachers, implement Theory of Multiple Intelligences to provide more feasible suggestions for the junior high school English reading teaching. We hope that this study can improve the junior high school English reading teaching strategies, and improve the scientific interest and junior high school English reading ability effectively.
