To Explore The Cancer Patients’ Medical Social Work Service Strategy

The 2015 annual report of National Cancer Registry shows that 6 people are diagnosed as malignancy every minute,which indicates cancer threats most seriously our health and live.Cancer does huge harm to the patient,the family and even the whole society.Health does not equal with no disease,but the perfect statement of physiology,psychology,and society adaptation.It won’t work efficiently if we just focus on the ailment of the cancer patients;meanwhile neglect their feelings,families,friends and their surroundings.s a result,in the perspective of “holistic health”,problems such as how to improve the life quality of the cancer patients and their families should be the national focus.Medical social work’s everlasting theme is to maintain the holistic health with its final aim to assist patients and their families to handle with social and psychological problem related to disease,treatment and health maintaining, and to improve the effect of treatment.Based on the above,and stick to the concept of holistic health and put breadwinner upmost,this research cooperate with medical team to do to analyze the physical condition of the cancer patients from the following perspectives:physiology,psychology,and society by questionnaire,interviewing and participant research.This research also objectively assesses the breadwinners’ physical distress for further treatment,applies the professional skills of medical social work to release psychological stress,builds up breadwinners’ support system with the sources of medical social work,gradually improves medical effects and life quality,and finally improves the life quality of the patients and their families.
