With the rapid development of globalisation, all countries are paying more attention to the inheritance and development of their culture. Culture is the symbol of a nation’s identity and the soul of a nation’s image. Increasing the soft power of culture is an important way to sharpen a nation’s core competitiveness. Education plays a vital role to culture inheritance and development, and education presents unique value to culture. Education constitutes part of culture, and also plays a role in inheriting and developing culture. music education also plays an essential role in inheriting music culture. At present, many countries see music education in primary and middle schools as an important way to inherit their folk music culture, and music education bears the vital responsibility to inherit folk music. Classic study is cultural heritage of China’s thousands of years’ national wisdom and spirit. Therefore, studying classic study is important to social development and prosperity, and also important for students forming good habits and perfect personality.This paper carries out the research from the perspective of introducing classic study into the curriculum of primary schools, and aims to spread the China’s versatile culture through music education, which will make classic study more popular and let our national spirit deeply rooted in the hearts of our students.The intro part describes the research background, status quo. purpose and implication, and targets and methodology. The first chapter covers the definitions of relevant theories from two perspectives- classic study and classic study education, and classic study and music education. The second chapter mainly analyses the status quo of introducing classic study into primary school curriculum, with first of all, analysing how classic study is used in the three versions of Music textbooks, and secondly analysing how Lvcheng Second Primary School is introducing classic study into its curriculum after my interviews and questionnaires. The third chapter further analyses Lvcheng Second Primary School’s case from three aspects- theoretical research,teaching methodology and student feedback. The fourth chapter gives my recommendations on introducing classic study into music curriculum from five aspects,which aims to contribute my research and experience to the successful implementation of the introduction of classic study into music curriculum.
