The Task-oriented Approach has been a developmental pattern of Communicative Approach since recent 20 years. It has transformed the basic idea of language application into the teaching way of practical meaning. There are quite a few linguistics has been carried out in-depth theoretical and practical research from different angles. In order to guide students to master knowledge and skills and promote the improvement of the level of spoken English, ultimately realizing teaching objectives, teachers should select the appropriate oral teaching method, and in the process of choosing teaching methods, teachers should elect the latest and widely used teaching method without doubt. Therefore, the task-based teaching method plays a vital role in the whole teaching of spoken English.At present, there are various problems existing in spoken English teaching. The phenomenon "mute English" exists everywhere. Therefore, in order to explore the application of task-based approach in spoken English of senior high school, the thesis contains these aspects as followings.The first part is introduction. It introduces the background of this topic questioned and the effects on senior high school students’oral English using based-task approach in English teaching. The second part is literature review. It introduces the recent foreign and domestic research about English spoken teaching and task-based approach. The third part introduces the information about research in affiliated Z senior high school. The author describes clearly constructive theory and input and output theory as the foundation of task-based approach. And the author has carryout out questionnaires and interviews about the students and English teachers from Class A,grade2 and ClassB,grade2. By compassion results of the two classes, it shows that spoken English level of the students from class A in which English teacher always use task-based approach is higher than that form class B in which the English teacher use traditional approach. Also the author carious out questionnaires about English teachers from Gradel and Grade2 in this high school, in order to know about the current English classes situations and the use situation of task-based approach. The forth part is the research results analysis. The result shows that due to College Entrance Exams, the use frequency of task-based approach is low in high school, and the traditional approach is prevailing nowadays. However, the students expect that English teachers can use various tasks in classes and they can get language knowledge by finishing tasks. Also most students accept task-based approach. The fifth part is the suggestions the author has given according to the problems the author finds in research. First, the teachers change the teaching ideas and use properly task-based approach. Second, the role of teachers should change from the leader of classroom to the assistant of students. Third, the education department should make reasonable system and reform our education system according to the reality.
