With the implementation of the family planning policy and the development of social as well as economic, great changes have occurred in people’s conception of birth. Even in urban community, people’s fertility decision is also showing a little son, without a male preference trend. Previous studies show that the fertility desire of the population of childbearing age in our country showed a gradual downward trend, the fertility desire number of children was significantly lower than the replacement level, but for the vast majority of households, having one child is still the lower limit of the family. Therefore whether a family which had a child will regenerate and how many they want is unpredictable variables. Thus, this paper will focus on regeneration of the family. In the simple concept of people, compared with parents’generation grandparents advocate many sons, male preference fertility culture. In order to more in-depth understanding of the current status of rural family fertility decision -making, and Its influence factors, this paper have carried on the comparative analysis of grandparents and parents. The study found that no matter grandparents or parents, both of them think that a family with two children is the most ideal, but in reality grandparents hope to have two children more than the generation of fathers; From the point of birth gender decisions, no significant difference between parents and grandparents, both sides have shown growing demands of sons and daughters. Moreover, There is no significant difference between the two generations in male preference. From the time of birth decisions, grandparents want child birth spacing less than fathers. On the basis of the above, the influencing factors of the rural family planning decision making are analyzed, the main conclusions are as follows:1. Add a partner to the child, in case the only child is too lonely, is the main driving force of family re birth decision-making; 2. The high cost of raising a child restrain the family’s desire to regenerate.3; cost-benefit theory with semi applicability; For decision making subject, their first consideration is whether they have enough ability to afford another child, children can bring how many benefits for them is not the focus of consideration;4.The influence of traditional concept of fertility gradually weakened, modern family planning idea gradually formed is to promote the root cause of today’s grandparents and parents reproductive decision-making situation; that is, the birth of the idea of people gradually moving towards modernization and rationalism.
