Reflection is one of the ways to improve the classroom efficiency and improve the quality of teaching. As the old saying goes, “Grinding a chopper will not hold up the work of cutting firewood”.On the one hand, after the examination, a teacher is supposed to be willing to enter his classroom, keep close to his students and be good at communicating with them to have a timely un derstanding of them by means of establishing a good teacher –student relationship. On the other hand, teachers are also supposed to make room for himself in reflecting on teaching, combining the mistakes the students have made in test papers with teachers’ teaching attitude, teaching approach, teaching objectives and teaching requirements. Teachers should put themselves into others’ position to think calmly about teaching thoughts, reflect their own teaching behaviors sincerely,summarize the teaching gains and losses carefully and adjust or improve teaching methods and strategy timely. In my opinion, a wise tea cher is one who will know how to take delight in catching a fish and gives it to a person so as to feed him for a day, and one who will even teach a person how to catch a fish in order to feed him for a lifetime.In the author’s teaching practice for nearly 30 years, as to some teachers, there have been existing many problems with reflection after the examination, in which outdated teaching modes are deep-rooted, which has made teaching effectiveness greatly reduced and prevented the further improvement of teaching standard. The research results of domestic and foreign scholars provide abu ndant theoretical basis for this study, and this research method can also provide useful help. According to the author’s own teaching experience, based on absorbing the research results of domestic and foreign scholars, focusing on empirical research, through field investigation, questionnaire survey and interview research methods, the research aims at finding the problems the senior three students have after each examination, and on this basis, exploring the keys to solving the problems with reflection. The main content of this paper is mainly divided into three p arts(6 chapters in all)as follows: the first part(Chapter1) is the background part of this paper,through the analysis of investigation and the summary of the domestic and foreign research results on reflective teaching;the second part(Chapter2) is the practice part, aiming at the research school, through classroom observation and questionnaire investigation, interview, focusing on analyzing the similarities and differences about reflection after the exam between teachers and students in order to discover the problems; the third part(Chapters3-6) is the author’s practice of the research on reflection after the examination and the conclusion of the research based on the actual survey results and cases of the author’s personal English teaching practice.
