Research On The Design Of English Homework For High Grades In Primary School

Homework, as well as classroom teaching, plays an important role in English language teaching. However, teachers pay more attention to and spend time on classroom teaching activities than homework design, which, to some extent, hinders the effective learning of the target language. Therefore, it is necessary and meaningful to explore the theory and practice of designing English homework so as to stimulate the potential of the learners and enhance their learning interest.In view of the above purposes, this research briefly reviews the researches on the theory of multiple intelligences and homework design at home and abroad. It conducts the study into the current English homework design for primary school learners in Grade Five, followed by a menu of homework designed with the implementation of different intelligences so as to enhance the learners’ language competence. Hopefully, this menu can serve as a guide for the English language teachers in their real life teaching experience.
