The pictures previous to the chapters(PPC) means: the editor designs the pictures and expression words and sentences of the projects according to the chapter, the words and sentences are called the sentences previous to the chapter(SPC). The PPC and SPC make up the parts of previous to the chapter in the textbook. PPC is the new content of teaching aid in the new textbook of the second curriculum education reform.PPC is one of the most characteristic part in the new curriculum standards of Shanghai. The math teachers didn’t attach importance to the PPC in the current teaching practice. And there are some faults in the application of PPC. So how to wield PPC well, how to reflect the value of PPC, to the teaching staff these are problems what need to solve.There are different kinds of PPCs in the Math Shanghai Edition under the second curriculum education reform. According to the PPCs’ different types of features, that will be used in the class, they are classroom organization, import teaching, breakthrough of difficult points of teaching, practicing consolidation. The classroom summarized different aspects of integration maintained, math and moral education, with the video, pictures and other media teaching methods’ help, PPCs will be used in mathematics class by multi-directional and multi-angle ways.The research of PPC practice in class has formed teaching method of Grade 8 math teaching. PPC as class first organizers helps students series connection with the old and new knowledge independently, PPC as lead-in part in class, it will helps attract students’ attention and improve students’ inquiry desire, it also improved class efficiency.
