Since entering the new century, our country has been promoting the reform of quality education and the new curriculum reform, more and more attention to the comprehensive development of students’ moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic and labor. History is an important part of the junior middle school teaching, it is an important content of moral education, but also one of the important ways to realize the quality education. The history teaching in junior middle school can not only increase the students’historical and cultural knowledge, but also enhance the students’ sense of historical responsibility, and can cultivate their moral ideas, improve their moral behavior, and give full play to their moral education function. However, in the practical teaching of history, because of the long history of the examination oriented education, the ideological shackles, the lack of adequate attention, teachers lack the correct guidance, the lack of autonomy of students and teaching content from the practical reasons, which leads to the lack of knowledge, lack of responsibility and moral concepts, the existence of mental health problems and moral behavior ability. These problems not only affect the overall effect of junior school history teaching, but also restrict the moral function of history subject, which hinders the formation of students’ moral concept and the improvement of moral ability, so it is necessary to strengthen the moral education function of history teaching in junior middle school.The author of this paper has also found a number of problems in the teaching of history in Xiantao. The author also found out some problems in the practical teaching. The sixth part is a summary of this study, the positive results, the shortcomings, and the expression of future research.
