In high school classical poetry teaching, effectiveness of classroom teaching needs to be paid great attention to. Teaching effectiveness refers to the standard in which the teachers and students are able to complete the course requirement of appreciation of classical poetry in a time unit. From the three aspects - the preparation before class, class implementation, and after-school extension, the paper analyzes the present situation and problems of the classical poetry teaching, which involves the weak points like too much teaching content, unreasonable textbook development, students’ inability to preview and weak classical poetry knowledge, teacher’s less original comprehension of textbook, examination targeted classroom teaching, rigid teaching methods, and lack of learning motivation and dialogues in class. This situation suggests that teachers conduct effective teaching methods accordingly. First, poetry can be restructured according to the teaching goal, and thus the analysis of poetry’s characteristics and students’grasp of basic knowledge as well as perception of classical poetry can be highlighted; Second, the teaching implementation part expounds concrete methods of the poetic construction of the classical poetry in class and the classroom teaching model via establishing the platform of classroom teaching in a "dialogue" way; Third, diversified means are stressed in extensive reading after class to link classical poetry learning and students’life together. This paper argues that, through the three stages of teachers’ and students’joint effort, the smooth implementation of effective teaching in high school classical poetry class can be ensured.
