The third article of the advices of compiling the textbook from the third part of the Standards for compulsory education fine arts courses(2011) stipulated explicitly that we could pay particular attention to the excellent Chinese traditional art, national art and popular art, carrying forward the excellent national culture with Chinese characteristics when select the content of the art textbook. We can see the importance of introducing the ethnic and folk art into the classroom of primary school from this document. As a kind of folk art form, dough modeling had a long history and rich cultural connotation. With the unique artistic charm,dough modeling was rated as the intangible cultural heritage of the world.Jiaodong dough modeling as our native cultural resources in Shandong passed down from generation to generation, and it was connected with our daily life. But it had been forgotten by more and more people that we have the responsibility to let it continue to pass on. The works of Jiaodong dough modeling expressed the admiration, pursuit, happiness and love of our life. The inheritance and development of Jiaodong dough modeling were based on the folk custom. With the development of the society and civilization, some new contents were added to Jiaodong dough modeling,and people’s new understanding of life was refracted. The purpose of my work was to understand the application of Jiaodong dough modeling in artappreciation classes in primary school, let the primary school pupils pay attention to folk art and carry forward the traditional culture of our country.Jiaodong dough was not only a kind of folk toys or folk sculpture but also the strong educational value. Pupils lively, active, and easily attracted by the bright colors and the contrast of the fresh things. Jiaodong dough modeling had a strong attraction to the primary school students with the simple and exaggerated shape and the gorgeous colors. The introduction of Jiaodong dough modeling to the art classes in primary school was not only an important complementary role in the existing art knowledge and skills,but also a role to promote the development of curriculum resources in primary school art education. Because Jiaodong dough modeling needed the link of fermentation and steamed, reform and innovation on the basis of the original fine arts teaching were needed to let students learn more about figurines of knowledge in two hours per week, to make them more in-depth understand of the traditional culture of artistic charm, and to let them culture the interest of figurines and traditional folk art. In this paper we will arrange the teaching of Jiaodong dough modeling for the appreciation review lesson.That was a very important significance. First,as a kind of folk art resources, Jiaodong dough modeling had a certain inheritance, and that was relevant to the shape characteristics, color characteristics and artistic beauty of its own. Learning Jiaodong dough modeling can let the students understand its beautiful shapes and colors,improve the aesthetic consciousness, and apply it in the future of art creation and life. Second, learning Jiaodong dough modeling was not only let students understand the figurines, learn to appreciate folk art, and enhanced their sense of national pride and self-esteem, but also can cultivate students’ love of local culture, the emotion love of traditional folk culture, and let the students discover and appreciate beauty. Third,Jiaodong dough modeling had a rich spiritual and cultural connotation.Study on Jiaodong dough sculpture can let the primary school students deepen understand and identify the traditional culture especially the national folk culture in China, and even improve the intrinsic cultural accomplishment of them.
