A Study On Status And Educating Countermeasure Of Secondary Vocational School Students’ Occupational Ethics Consciousness

After nine-year compulsory education,about 50% of teenagers get enrolled in secondary vocational schools. And after graduation, most of them are employed by local enterprise. For example, Shanghai General Motor( Dongyue) Auto Company, Shanghai Automobile Gear Works, DSME SHANDONG CO., LTD., Yantai Eddie Precision Machinery Co., Ltd., Yantai Sanhe amperes technology co., LTD., Foxconn, etc., more than 60% of manufacturing employees are from secondary vocational school graduates. It’s an important source of China’s labor force engaged in manufacturing. Their professional ethics consciousness affects the enterprise’s overall level of professional ethics. The risk of professional ethics impacts the quality of enterprise’s production, the enterprise prestige and even the survival of enterprises. Without abundant attention, it will not only seriously affect the goal of secondary vocational education but also influence the development of regional economy and modernization of the country. From the outline of moral education in our country, we can see that elementary school pays more attention to personal morals and social ethics education, secondary school focuses more on social ethics education, while secondary vocational school pays more attention to professional ethics consciousness education.According to the survey, when choosing employees, what are valued is not only the know-how and certification but the professional ethics, responsibility consciousness and cooperation ability. We’ve visited Yantai Eddie Precision Machinery Co., Ltd. and Yantai Sanhe amperes technology co., LTD. Professional ethics is one of the major elements for enterprises to select talents. The companies prefer to select employees with good professional ethics but average skill level, but not employees with high skill level but low professional ethics.Because the skill level can be improved by training.This paper takes students in Yantai Technician Institute as the object, uses questionnaire survey and interviews as methodology. Through investigation, it shows that the current secondary vocational students have no interest in their job, only consider salary, working environment, the intensity of labor, etc. It also shows that they are not strict with the procedures of tasks, cut corners, lack of normative consciousness also lack of honesty and trustworthiness virtue. They cannot assessing their professional ability or collaboration with others and also lack of the team spirit. After graduation, they rarely have the opportunity to continue studying; most of them even don’t read a word, so they are not assessing to the new knowledge. This will even influence the development of individuals and enterprises. This paper also analysis the reasons of the problems. It mainly includes influence of the student individual development, the moral demonstration by their parents, the boring content in school education, and the prejudice against secondary vocational education, and so on.Finally some proper countermeasures and useful suggestions have been put forward from the practical view: cultivating students’ self-consciousness of professional ethics, building up school management system, improving the teaching content, innovating teaching methods, improving cooperation between school and enterprises and so on. Try some specific methods to improve the professional ethics consciousness of secondary vocational school students.
