The principle of People’s Education Press is renovating in steadiness. The textbooks make appropriately revise according to the development of times and the change of teaching ideas, at the same time inheriting the fine traditions. With the rise of "C hinese hot", People are paying more attention to our country’s traditional culture, especially the ancient literature. Ancient literary works have a pivotal position in textbook of Chinese middle school students, what’s more a ncient literary works also change in the process of textbooks evolution. In order to sum up experience and lessons of writing high school textbooks of People’s Education Press about ancient literary works, the 2003 version and 2007 version teaching materials as the research objects, I contrast teaching material from the text-selection system, the exercise system and the reading-aid system.Through the comparison from quantity, style, age, text-selection system, we know that ancient literary works in 2007 version teaching materials is the inheritance and development based on 2003 version.2007 version teaching materials is more humanistic and scientific. Through the reading-aid system of Unit lead, class notes, text charts, data expansion, we know that 2007 version is more abundant and accurate than 2003 version. Through comparison of Memory exercises, comprehension exercises, application exercises, exploratory exercises, we know that exercises in 2007 version is more conducive about the improvement of the ability to explore and apply. In the process of comparison, we can see the progress and growth of ancient literary works about the 2007 version teaching materials. At the same time, I also found the shortcomings and deficiencies which need to be improved. So in the last chapter, I put forward my advice about writing for reference, such as increasing the knowledge of C lassical Chinese sentence and the appendix about classical C hinese knowledge. Researching teaching materials can not only improve the scientific nature of textbooks, but also improve the utilization of teaching materials. At the end of the paper, some suggestions are put forward, which is convenient for students and teachers to learn.
