Firstly, this paper discusses the effect of ancient works in Chinese Teaching and the basic compiling requirements of ancient works in Chinese textbooks. Secondly, this paper compares and analyses the contents, number, dynasty distribution, genre distribution, content of subjects and filing structure of textbooks published by Jiangsu Education Publishing House and Shandong people’s Publishing House.The study finds that the ancient works of this two textbooks selection is higher cultural content and strong literary, more concentrated in the Qin and Han Dynasties and the Tang and Song dynasties, organized all topic centered organizational unit. But there are many problems in the ancient works compiling of this two textbooks: the overall number is less, especially the self-reading texts; the low proportion of drama and the novel, and the subject and content isn’t rich enough; some articles are too difficulty and too long; some representative writers are not selected into the textbook.Therefore, this paper put forward recommendations for improvement of compilation of ancient works of high school Chinese textbook: firstly, expands selection range of the ancient works to add the richness of the text as far as possible; secondly, contact the characteristics of students, select those ancient works that can arouse the students’ interest and fit their learning; finally, arrange ancient works by scientific planning. |
