A Comparative Study On Exercises Of Senior High School Chinese Compulsory Teaching Materials Of People's Education Press And Jiangsu Education Publishing House

Chinese teaching materials consist of selected articles,exercises,notes and knowledge.Exercises play an essential part in Chinese teaching materials.Exercises not only provide a reference for teachers,but also are the essential tools for students.In that case,there is no doubt that exercises in Chinese teaching materials are very indispensable.Since the revolution of curriculum,Chinese teaching materials have been various under the guideline of “one syllabus,various versions.”The teaching materials published by People's Education Press,Jiangsu Education Publishing House,Guangdong Education Publishing House,Shandong People's Education Press and Chinese Press stand out owing to their specialities.From the perspective of planning and editing of exercises,these different versions express their own special ideologies and values.Nevertheless,not enough attention has been paid to the exercises in the practical teaching.The planning and editing of exercises are not scientific and reasonable,therefore,some teachers and students ignore the practical values.At present,the material published by People's Education Press is the most widely used version in Chinese teaching in senior high school across China.Besides,the version of Jiangsu Education Publishing House stands out by means of its obvious features and reasonable planning.Based on this,this thesis will carry out a comparative study on the exercises of ancient poetrylyrics in the teaching materials published by People's Education Press and Jiangsu Education Publishing House.This study aims to offer some insights to the planning and editing of Chinese teaching marerials later.The thesis is made up of five parts:introduction,literature review of exercises in Chinese teaching materials,the categories of the exercises of these poems and lyrics,the evaluation of the planning and editing of the exercises,the suggistions andconclusions.The introduction illustrates the purpose,the signigicance,the background and the methodology in order that the readers can have a better understanding of the research objective.Chapter one describes the concept and role of exercises in Chinese teaching materials,Chapter two is a comparative study from the perspective of selected articles,the focus of testing,the types and the number.Chapte three evaluates the planning and editing of exercises from the characteristics and limitations of the two versions.Chapter four puts forward some suggestions based on the comparative study.
