With the gradual deepening of the basic education reform in our country, more and more attention has been paid to classroom teaching mode------its purpose is to cultivate and improve students’ innovative spirit and practical ability. So, the new curriculum reform requires that we should go out of the target orientation of imparting knowledge, establish the curriculum goal of "the whole person", and advocate knowledge generation mode with students’ active participation and independent learning mode under the guidance of teachers.Teacher is as a principal part in the traditional classroom teaching, this classroom teaching tend to ignore the different levels of students’ learning ability and accepting knowledge, it can not fully mobilize students enthusiasm and initiative, hinders the development of potential innovative ability of high school students.This study aims to construct an appropriate classroom environment, in particular the practice of teaching, trains the ability of students to explore new knowledge, Stimulates interest for high school students to learn mathematics and enhances learning motivation, so that students learn in pleasure under the guidance of teachers, acquire knowledge from the inquiry by scientific method and learning attitude.This will lead to easily teaching for a teacher and apply their knowledge for students.Ability of independent inquiry, refers to the ability to grasp the scientific content, scientific methods and scientific research, the ability students acquire in the research process through personal experience and independent learning, students’ability of taking the initiative to think what to do and how to do. Cultivating the ability of independent inquiry is the foundation and premise of cultivating "creative talents". The cultivation of high school students’independent inquiry ability should be student-centered, focusing on the cultivation of students’ autonomy and initiative according to the physiological and psychological characteristics of senior high school students, encouraging students participating in classroom teaching actively, stimulating their innovation, their desire for knowledge, making them enjoy the mathematics class, so as to improve their ability to discover problems, analyze issues and solve problems in mathematics learning process.In this paper, the following problems are discussed on the basis of practice with the research methods of literature review, experience summarization and questionnaires:(1) the concept of independent inquiry ability; (2) the elements of independent inquiry ability; (3) ways of cultivating students’ ability of independent inquiry; (4) the current situation of students’ ability of independent inquiry in high school mathematics class; (5) suggestions on how to develop students’ ability of independent inquiry in teaching high school mathematics. Research shows that the research strategy can make high school students learn mathematics effectively, improve students’ learning enthusiasm and initiative, and enhance their inquiry consciousness of participation in classroom.
