Ideology and morality course is a comprehensive course based on the life of junior high school students, with the goal of guiding and promoting the development of junior high school students’ ideological and moral development. The mainly drawbacks of traditional ideology and morality course is " Pay attention to accept of the students. Despise exploration. Pay attention to the results. Despise the process. Pay attention to the cognition. Despise the experience of them". The authority of the teachers is higher than all in the classroom. Teaching activities becomes the "indoctrination" activities that the teacher lectures and the students attend it. The activities ignore the dominant position of students and the students become a container that receive knowledge from the teachers. With the development of the new curriculum, generative teaching has gradually aroused people’s concern. The paper is based on the generative teaching theory and the use value in the ideology and morality course in junior high school. Through classroom observation, questionnaires and other methods analysis the main problems existing in the ideology and morality course in the junior middle school. the main problems are the formal of the generation, the one-sided of the generation and the random of the generation and so on. The reason is mainly concentrated in three aspects: the external factors, the teachers and the students, including the influence and restriction of the external environment of teaching, the concept of the traditional teaching deeply rooted in the teachers and the recognition and acceptability of the students. Then according to the related theory, I found the generative teaching should follow the principle of life, process, openness and pluralism. As well as the role of teachers in the process. And Then put forward the improvement strategy of the ideology and morality course in the junior middle school, including the flexible design, in order to generate effectively; Discovery timely, generating with the resources; Good at reflection, improving the quality of the generation. Last the ideology and morality course can become full of vitality and vigor.
