The Research On The Modernity Of Peasants In The Concentrated Residential Areas

The human modernization is an important part of the process of social modernization, and it is the driving factor for the development of the whole society. As the mainstay of social development, we should pay attention to the study of human’s modernity. In recent years, with the continuous progress of China’s urbanization, many rural populations achieve the same life style as the urban residents by centralized residence. However, there are still some problems worthy of deep thinking and inquiry, such as how the peasants’ modernity in concentrated residence, how to measure analyze and summarize their modernity, the significance of the study of the modernity of these peasants to the construction of urbanization.This thesis is guided by the theory of continuing socialization, taking the concentrated villagers as investigation subjects, through questionnaire survey and depth interview, besides, with the aid of factor analysis method. It displays the modernity situation of concentrated residential peasants from the aspects of community integration, time view, gender conception, education view, efficacy, legal consciousness and consumption opinion. And it finds the influencing factors of peasants’ modernized thoughts and behavior patterns, such as modern education, information channel and community guidance, which will eventually make contributions to the development of peasants’ modernity in other areas.
