Residential Differentiation And The Effect Of Which On The City Integrating Of Land-lost Peasants

At present,steady progress was made in economic and social development in china and the urbanization has had a quick development.The expansion of the urban space necessarily involves the integration between urban and rural space,with rural areas to urban areas and farmers to citizens.Now,land-lost farmers has become urban residents within system in rural and semi-urban areas.The urbanization of farmers,however,is not only the change of identity but also involves the change of mode of production,lifestyle and values.Whether farmers integrate city or not relates to the realization of citizenship and urbanization,but social harmony.To help land-lost farmers better integrate into city,become urban resident and share the achievements of urbanization,knowing the integration and effect factors of land-lost farmers and exploring countermeasures is very necessary.This paper is based on data from a survey of Fenggang County in Guizhou Province and the data is got by questionnaire survey and in-home interviews.Selecting 14 indicators related to the integration of land-lost farmers in economic,society,culture and psychology,it explores the dimension measurement of integration of land-lost farmers by factor analysis method.We got three new public factors with the method,which are economic integration,behavioral integration and psychological integration.At the same time,we analyze the integration degree of land-lost farmers of Fenggang County in Guizhou Province on the whole and every level.On this basis,this paper utilizes OLS regression to explore the situation of land-lost peasants' city integrating and the effect of residential differentiation on it.The results show that:firstly the overall level of their city integrating is still low and the degree of behavior integrating is the highest,followed by psychological integrating and economic integrating;secondly residential differentiation has a significant negative impact on the land-lost peasants' city integrating;lastly factors such as age,gender,years of education,the time in the community and disposable income have significant effects on land-lost peasants' city integrating.Female,the younger,the longer of education years and living in the community,the more of disposable income,the higher of land-lost peasants'city integrating.These results tell that sustainable livelihoods and residential differentiation should be took into account in the resettlement of land-lost peasants.At last,we come up with four respects of policy recommendations:1.Perfect resettlement policy of land-lost farmers;2.Improve service functions of the community;3.Implement farmers' quality promotion project and strengthen employment training of farmers;4.Explore the living pattern of limited mixed residence.
