This paper around a high school art appreciation teaching to cultivate the students’ ability of visual literacy research methods. First deep understanding of and research the definition of "visual literacy ability", objectives and high school art appreciation course for students of cultivating the ability of visual literacy, then investigating the current situation of high school students visual literacy ability, then combined with high school students’psychological characteristics, art appreciation course teaching goal and the teaching theory of constructivism, summed up the ability of training students’ visual literacy in high school art appreciation teaching strategy, and then apply the corresponding strategy in high school art appreciation course in case analysis, summarized in the endSummary of major sections of the:The first chapter, the overview of visual literacy ability. First, the definition of visual literacy ability, the author thinks that "visual literacy ability" is the visual general readers on work form "look" on the basis of analysis to explore the significance of works, and further to the work and social life, culture, environment, ideology, and analyzes the relationship between art history, so as to realize the cultural meaning behind the image. Second, cultivate students’ ability to visual literacy and goal:to acquire knowledge and skills. Students through art to see behind the cultural implication and connotation; Students apply image;The second chapter, high school art appreciation course for students of visual literacy cultivation. Among them the author summarizes the role of three aspects: improve students’ ability in visual perception of the images; To improve students’ reading ability of the images; Improve the ability of image visual aesthetic.The third chapter, high school art appreciation teaching status quo of the students’ ability in visual literacy survey. Mainly through the way of questionnaire and interview survey, first, the attitude of students in high school art appreciation. Second, students can actively participate in the appreciation in the art appreciation course art works; Third, the investigation is the student perception of visual information degree; Fourth, investigate influence students to understand and appreciate the art works of the main factors; Fifth, teachers focus on students in art appreciation class of the current situation of "visual literacy ability; Sixth, investigate the art appreciation course that kind of teaching method is helpful to the students’ability to read "vision".
