A Study On The Infulent Elements Of The Paticipating Of Popularziation Science Volunteer Service In Colleges

Nowadays the development level of science and technology has become an important index to measure a country’s comprehensive strength, as well as the development of science and technology rely on the promotion of public Scientific Literacy. Therefore, it plays a important role for the country and society to work for the popularization of science of promotion of public literacy. For individuals, the propagation of science can improve the personal scientific literacy, and make the individuals adapt better to the development of the society; For society, the propagation of science can create a good social atmosphere and promote the overall progress of society; For nation, the propagation of science can enhance the country’s comprehensive strength.Science popularization of the breadth and depth due to the development of the volunteers, volunteer service is a very noble social cause which is not only the product of the development of social progress, but also the important reflection improving population quality. In the other developed capitalist countries, volunteer service has become a conscious act of social citizens, which is a reflection of the social mainstream values and important way of improving population quality, promoting social progress. At the present, the process of volunteer service dependents on the socialist market economic construction, political construction and cultural construction with each other, and it also corresponds to the socialist core values. Moreover it accords with the direction of advanced culture in our country. In a sense, it is important to pay attention to volunteer. Whether carry forward traditional culture, improving quality of citizen, building modern society or strengthening the comprehensive power of nation is related inherently with volunteer.This paper aims to investigate and research the situation of universities students in Wuhan participating in the popular science voluntary activities. First, on the basis of reading predecessors’ research results intensively, we have a clear picture of the basic situation of college students participating in volunteer service. Secondly, combining with related theory, we make a hypothesis to the related factors that influence college students to participate in the voluntary activities of popular science, making prediction of positive correlation and negative correlation. At last, through the way of combinating of questionnaire and interview, we got the related data, then count, induct and analyze the data, finally find out the problems and put forward countermeasures.By means of investigation and research, we found that the college students’ science volunteering is facing four difficulties at present. First, the channel for volunteers to participate is too narrow; Second, college students’own conditions are not qualified enough; Third, science and technology museum have difficulties in organizing activities for popularizing science; the guarantee of science and technology museums and the related volunteer activities. Therefore, we can adopt corresponding countermeasures: first, enrich volunteers recruitment channels by carrying out various forms of recruitment activities; Second, take special management strategies aiming at college students volunteer groups; Third, intensify cooperation between museums and colleges, and innovate incentive mechanism. Through the above methods, we can promote the vigorous development of college students volunteering career.It is true that these strategies provide some methods with the science and technology museum to recruit volunteers from university. However it also has some problems at the same time. Because all the collected data are from Wuhan University, its local uniqueness decides that the related measures couldn’t be expanded nationally.
