The position of head teacher is very important, but their work are not be well done. They often feel overwhelmed, humbled and exhausted. Some research results show that head teachers ’self-efficacy in classroom management significant influence on students’ attitudes toward learning and relations between students’ academic attitudes toward learning, learning method and learning technique. So we think what kind of ability to qualified for this job? Junior high school in the special stage of physical and mental development when the education and guidance from head teacher is prime importance. This research attempts to figure out the competency model research of junior middle school head teacher’ classroom management.This study staring from semi-structured interview of qualitative research methods to interview 11 junior middle school head teachers. Then the result of interview were analyzed by the grounded theory. The report finally decides the competence items, which are factor analyzed into 39 behavior or features items,19 factors and further combined into 4 categories. Management literacy category include sense of security, self-examination and control, knowledge structure and charm of personality; relationship harmony categories include communication and cooperation skills, strict and loving, mutual understanding; tasking processing category include example setting skill, persuasive ability, reward and punishment, effective guidance, psychology tutoring ability, elaborate collaterally, insight, implement ability, sum-up ability, planning regulation; developing potential category include update and creativity, identification and engagement. The research finally gave three suggestions from the perspective of training institution, school and head teacher so that the competence model can be applied.The conclusion can be used for training, selection and evaluation for junior middle school head teacher.
