At present, the research on textbooks of teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages is mostly focused on textbooks which published in China. Resources of researches based on exercises only and focused on a certain country are very scarce. The Chinese education of Korean junior high school started rather late, so the exercise design in the latest five Chinese textbooks of Korean junior high school needs improvement. It is a practical necessity to make up for the shortage of research on exercises from the perspective of a certain country, to optimize the exercise design system of Chinese textbooks in Korean, thereby improving the quality of Chinese language teaching in Korea. Therefore, the paper firstly compares the similarities and differences in exercises among five latest Chinese textbooks of Korean junior high school, then conducts survey on teachers and students who are using these five textbooks in order to know their opinion about the design of exercises, and finally puts forward thoughts and suggestions to exercises design of Chinese textbook for Korean junior high School.The content of the paper is divided into the following parts:The first part is Chapter one of the introduction which elaborates the background and significance of the study, reviews researches on the settings of the exercises which includes the definition and function of exercise, as well as the design of nationalized Chinese textbook. Finally, this part proposes the research ideas and research methods.The second part is the main part which includes Chapter two to Chapter four. Chapter two firstly gives a brief introduction of the five Chinese textbooks, and then compares the exercise characteristics, similarities and differences from the amount, type, object and target of the exercise by using method of induction and comparative analysis. Chapter three focuses on investigating the subjective evaluation of teachers and students who are using these five textbooks on the design of the exercises, such as amount, type, degree of difficulty and interest of the exercise by using questionnaire method from the qualitative and quantitative aspects. Chapter four synthesizes the results of the questionnaires, putting forwards thoughts and corresponding suggestions to exercises design from six aspects:amount, type, object, target, degree of difficulty and interest.The third part is the conclusion part which summarizes the opinion of this essay and points out the shortcomings of this paper.
