Since Korea belongs to the Chinese character culture circle,and SinoKorean words account for more than 50%of Korean vocabulary.Thus,Korean students are more familiar with Chinese characters and superior to students from non-Chinese character culture circle when it comes to learning Chinese.However,this "similarity" brings interference problems that those students from non-Chinese character culture circle do not encounter.Homographs between Korean and Chinese have positive and negative transfer effects on Korean students.Currently,Korean students can take language courses of their choice in secondary schools.For most Korean high school students who learn and experience Chinese for the first time,the migration of homographs between Korean and Chinese is particularly significant.For this reason,homographs between Korean and Chinese are considered very important in teaching Korean high school students.This paper focuses on high school students in Korea and addresses comparative analysis of homographs between Korean and Chinese from the perspectives of meaning,part of speech and emotional color in the Korean high school students with reference to the "2015 revised education curriculum high school Chinese basic vocabulary".The basic vocabulary has a total of 880 words.Words each consisting of two or more syllables in the vocabulary,and Sino-Korean words corresponding thereto are compared in detail with reference to the "Modern Chinese Dictionary(7th Edition)" and the "Standard Korean Dictionary" to find out similarities and differences in 219 homographs between Korean and Chinese.First,the definition of homographs between Korean and Chinese is clarified.Then,according to the similarities and differences of word meanings,homographs between Korean and Chinese are divided into isomorphic synonyms,compiete homographs,and partial homographs.The isomorphic synonyms are divided into absolute isomorphic synonym and relative isomorphic synonym.The partial homographs are divided into Chinese Wide Korean narrow homographs(indicating homographs which have more meanings in Chinese than in Korean),Chinese Narrow Korean Wide homographs(indicating homographs which have more meanings in Korean than in Chinese),and Chinese and Korean cross homographs(indicating homographs whose meanings are partially in common between in Chinese and Korean).Through a series of questionnaire surveys conducted on Korean high school students,correlation between learning of Tranditional Chinese character and learning of Chinese vocabulary is investigated,and positive and negative transfer effects from Korean and Chinese homographs on Korean high school students in learning Chinese are analyzed.Based on results of the questionnaire and analysis thereof,an effective homograph teaching strategy for Korean high school Chinese learners is proposed in order to eliminate obstacles in learning and promote positive migration during learning.It is hoped that the special language phenomenon of homographs between Korean and Chinese can be used to provide more benefits with less harms and that it can be applied effectively in Chinese-teaching classrooms in Korea to help Korean high school students.
