This thesis studies the classical tragedy female images, and proposes to review analyses of female image which are further explored in the teaching practice. Based on previous studies, this paper analyzes several classical tragic female images in textbooks, providing a new teaching idea for the growth of Chinese women. This thesis is divided into three parts:Introduction, Body and Conclusion. The Introduction part is divided into three sections. Section One begins from the current states that female consciousness is weak among middle school students and interpretation of tragic female characters is not exact enough in middle school Chinese class. Section Two summarizes relevant existing researches on female in Chinese textbooks for middle schools. Section Three explains the idea and main content of the paper. The Body part is divided into four chapters:The first chapter is divided into three sections. This chapter presents the concept of reviewing female image analysis in middle school class from the perspective of theory, and notes several aspects from the perspective of teachers and students in class teaching: get rid of stereotype impression of women, recognize the multiple images of women, understand the general framework of Chinese women’s development course, and train students’healthy, positive gender awareness, by using the theory of feminist criticism. The second chapter is divided into three sections. This chapter, mainly through the feminist interpretation of Lin Daiyu in Dream of Red Mansions and Cui Cui in Border Town, reveals the situation of the majority of unmarried women in feudal China. They lived in a world dominated by male imagination. The poetic images of beauty, purity and love persistence, which had always been praised, were ideal woman paradigm in male heart. Patriarchy digested their right to speak and keep them in a state of silence, which maintained the status of male discourse unknowingly. The third chapter is divided into three sections. This chapter, mainly through the feminist interpretation of Xiang Lin Sao in Blessing and Lu Sniping in Thunderstorm, indicates that women in feudal marriage are generally controlled by four feudal patriarchal powers--- regime, clan power, God and husband, which are four shackles to bind women. Their lives were totally ordered by this feudal patriarchal ideology and system which eventually abandoned women ruthlessly. The fourth chapter is divided into three sections. This chapter, mainly through the feminist interpretation of Dou E in Dou E Yuan and Liu Hezhen in In Memory of Miss Liu Hezhe, shows that Chinese women, who experienced thousands of years’ oppression from patriarchal society and the feudal patriarchal system, gradually revealed a sense of independence and express a voice of resistance, under the tide of accepting passively and conforming doom. Their behavior showed awakening of Chinese women in the patriarchal society, and represented the germination and trek of feminist practice. The Conclusion part summarizes the research significance and ideas of this thesis, hoping of leading students to understand female images in China correctly and establish a healthy and positive gender awareness and values, through the analysis of several tragic female characters in textbooks.
