After the reforming and opening up, Chinese education of middle school has entered a period of rapid development. In order to cooperate with multiple teaching reforms of education and adapt to the actual needs of Chinese teaching in the New Period, the People’s Education Press has published many sets of high school Chinese textbooks. With the purpose of exploring the changes of Chinese contemporary works in the PEP high school Chinese textbook and analyzing the selected work situation of Chinese contemporary works, this paper selects one of the seven sets of Chinese textbooks as the object of study.This paper is divided into four parts. The first part is the introduction, discussing the significance and value of this thesis,and summarizing the research status of the textbook. On this basis, the author makes clear the research object of this paper, and the related concepts are defined. In order to achieve the purpose of the study, the paper adopts the literature research method, comparative analysis method, statistical analysis of effective research method and case study method and other research methods. The second part is the statistics and analysis of the selected work situation about the Chinese contemporary works in the PEP high school Chinese textbook of the New Period, which sets out to do these things respectively from seven sets of textbooks in Chinese modern and contemporary works selected total table of contents, a total of table of contents, unique to the table of contents, adjacent versions of the textbook contents selection and other aspects to proceed. And this part is a overall care of Chinese modern and contemporary works, which is focuses on the representation of the text description. In the third part, the author explores new era of high school Chinese Teaching Syllabus (Curriculum Standard) evolution and the influence of Chinese contemporary selected works in the high school Chinese textbook. Firstly, the author studied intensively of the evolution of New Period high school Chinese Teaching Syllabus (Curriculum Standard) understanding on the nature of the subject, understanding of the teaching aims, and the selection standard of requirements. Then the author analyzed the selected work about the Chinese contemporary works in the PEP high school Chinese textbook, which is affected by the high school Chinese Teaching Syllabus (Curriculum Standard). This part is mainly from the change of value orientation and genre composition and other aspects, thus clearly reflects the Chinese Contemporary Works of the whole selected trajectory in the PEP High School Chinese textbook of the New Period. The fourth part is some thinking about the selection of Chinese modern and contemporary works induced by above research, some original ideas about selection mining of text selection, limitations and shortcomings and the selected provides some original ideas. Through the research, the author found that the PEP high school Chinese textbook version of a changed again, but the selection of the content is still some old, selected horizons also exist limitations. In this regard, the author suggests the selection of Chinese modern and contemporary works should establish four ideas, including the selection concept about the philosophy of life, the selection concept of students’ physical and mental characteristics and development needs, and the selection concept of considering the teacher teaching the actual situation, the selection concept of opening and diverse.
