The Study Of Chinese Modern And Contemporary Poetry Teaching In The Textbook Of Chinese Teaching High School

Poetry is the quintessence of China's five thousand years of outstanding cultural thoughts.Confucius inthe Analects of Confucius said: “Poetry can stimulate ambition,can observe the universe and human prosperity and loss,can make people understand the social need,can make people know how to persuade the monarch implicitly and politely.Not only to serve the parents and servants,but also know more about the names of animals and plants.” The civilizing function of poetry is generally recognized by people from ancient to modern times.Until now,ancient poetry works still play a major role in the Chinese textbooks.Modern and contemporary Chinese poetry,however,as another essential part of Chinese poetry,has not been valued in the rightful position.Throughout high school Chinesetextbooks of People's Education Press edition are there only 3 Chinese modern and contemporary poems in five compulsory textbooks,including 79 reading texts.In addition,some problemsneed to be concerned in the teaching and studying of modern and contemporary poetry.Hence,this paper uses high school Chinese compulsory textbooks of People's Education Press edition as an example to study the teaching of Chinese modern and contemporary poetry and offer some suggestions from three teaching stages,i.e.before lesson,in lesson and after lesson.The introduction of this paper outlines and analyzes the previous studies.The chapter one studiestext-selecting and teaching value of modern and contemporary poetry.In chapter two,according to the questionnaire and interviews and other data fromthe senior high schools of Yueyang area in Hunan province,I analyze the existing problems and the potential reasons for the teaching of Chinese modern and contemporary poetry.To the problems of text-selecting and teaching of modern and contemporary poetry,the chapter three puts forward some concrete suggestions.In chapter four I take A Lane in the Rain for instance to fulfill the suggestions of classroom teaching practice mentioned above,and at the same time to exam the feasibility of these suggestions.
