The proposal of geographical subject literacy in the "General High School Geography Curriculum Standards(2017 Edition)" has made local curriculum resources a crucial factor in developing students’ geographical practical abilities.Researching the strategies and implementation of developing high school geography local curriculum resources based on practical abilities will add context and practicality to geography teaching,effectively stimulating students’ learning interests.Actively exploring the real situation created by local resources allows students to have a stronger sense of learning purpose,which is more conducive to achieving the objectives of geography teaching.Based on the above background,the questions that need to be addressed in this study are: firstly,what is the current situation of the development of local geography curriculum resources and the cultivation of geography practical ability in Shijiazhuang City? Secondly,what are the local geography teaching contents in high school geography? Is it feasible to cultivate geographical practical ability with local resources in Shijiazhuang city? Thirdly,what targeted development strategies can be proposed to address the identified issues?Fourthly,how should high school local geography curriculum cases be designed and implemented to cultivate students’ practical abilities in geography?This study follows the following steps: Firstly,based on studying relevant literature,a systematic review of the research on geographical practicality and local geography curriculum resources was conducted,and research objectives,content,and methods were proposed.Secondly,four core concepts were defined and the relationship between local geography curriculum resources and geographical practice was analyzed,clarifying four theories that have guiding significance for this study.Thirdly,the questionnaire survey method was used to investigate the current situation of the development of local geography curriculum resources in high schools in Shijiazhuang,and the problems and experiences in the development were elaborated.Fourthly,using field investigation methods and combining the curriculum standards with the geographical resources of Shijiazhuang City,the theme of high school geography local curriculum resources was clarified,and Shijiazhuang City’s high school geography local curriculum resources that can be used to cultivate practical ability were sorted out.Fifthly,the action research method is used to put forward development principles and strategies,design development cases and implement them.After investigation and practice,the following conclusions have been drawn: there are the following difficulties in the development of local geography curriculum resources in high schools in Shijiazhuang.The development of local geography curriculum resources in Shijiazhuang needs to be deepened.Teachers face significant pressure in terms of teaching progress and class schedule,lacking time and energy to research and develop local geography curriculum resources,resulting in a low proportion of resource development.At present,the presentation form of local geography curriculum resources is mainly pre class guidance and Case method,while the application proportion of school-based textbooks and experimental activities is small,which limits the development of local geography curriculum resources.There is a widespread lack of confidence in the application of local geography curriculum resources.Based on the identified issues,the development principles were proposed: appropriate depth and moderation;combination of general and special;the principle of placing equal emphasis on practical activities and classroom teaching.Teachers should rely on local resources to create teaching scenarios;design geography experiments using campus materials;excavate natural scenery and organize field investigations;focus on cultural hotspots and conduct social surveys.Finally,combining teaching with local resources,a development case was developed: J Middle School Geography Practice Group used soil profiles to study the causes of soil formation;design and observe solar eclipse experiments using J Middle School Astronomical Society;visit Dasizhuang Village in Zhao County,Shijiazhuang to investigate the location factors affecting agriculture.Providing examples and references for teachers to develop high school local geography curriculum resources and cultivate students’ practical abilities in geography.
