A Research On Kindergarten Teachers’ Ethics

Teachers’ ethics is the professional ethics of teachers, is an important part of teachers’ professional accomplishment, and play an important role in kindergarten teachers’ professional growth, children’ healthy development, the promotion of the quality of kindergarten care and education activities,as well as the development of the whole society.In order to understand the current situation of kindergarten teachers’ethics of A city in Hubei Province, I made questionnaire and interview survey to investigate four aspects of kindergarten teachers’ethics:dedication, loving children, rigorous scholarship and being a model of virtue for others.I randomly selected 180 kindergarten teachers in A city, who respectively come from 4 public kindergartens and 4 private kindergartens,to participate in the investigation, and interviewed 8 kindergarten teachers. The results found that, kindergarten teachers’ethics of A city is good, in terms of dedication, kindergarten teachers love their job and be willing to dedicate; in terms of loving children, kindergarten teachers respect and love their students; in terms of rigorous scholarship, kindergarten teachers attach importance to reflective learning and positive innovation; in terms of being a model of virtue for others, kindergarten teachers pay attention to personal accomplishment and setting a good example. But there are still some problems. Some kindergarten teachers don’t have strong occupation beliefs and lack of sense of justice and scientific attitude, etc.In order to understand the different types of kindergarten teachers’ethics, this thesis made correlation analysis and difference test about kindergarten teachers’ethics and its four dimensions which based on different personal background factors such as age, age of teaching, education level, professional title, different types of kindergarten, salary. Results show that the age, age of teaching, different types of kindergarten, salary, have significant correlation with kindergarten teachers’ ethics. The kindergarten teachers’ ethics score increased with the growth of age, age of teaching and salary. The public kindergarten teachers’ ethics score is higher than the private kindergarten teachers. However, education level, professional title have no correlation with kindergarten teachers’ ethics. Different age, age of teaching, professional title, different types of kindergarten, salary, have significant differences with kindergarten teachers’ ethics, but education level and kindergarten teachers’ethics have no significant differences.Through the interview to the kindergarten teachers, it was learned that the kindergarten teachers’quality, the environment of the kindergarten, the cultivation of teachers’ethics and the treatment of the kindergarten teachers are the main factors of teachers’ ethics. To the end, I put forward the countermeasures including strengthening kindergarten teachers’ self-cultivation, improving the environment of kindergarten, innovating teachers’ ethics training and improving the treatment of kindergarten teachers.
