At the end of last century, education informationization has developed into a new trend. Because information digitalization and computer network develop rapidly, information education has become an important breakthrough of the relative development and reform of current traditional education. In order to comply with the information geography teaching, many researchers try to use:modern science and technology, such as electronic map and geographic information system into the geography teaching to carry out the reform of geography teaching and change the traditional methods of geography teaching, improve students’effect of learning geographic information and knowledge so that it makes them rapid, easy and convenient to master the knowledge of geography. But in terms of the current domestic geography teaching information, it’s based on the multimedia devices, PPT courseware and simple electronic teaching map. Compared with the traditional geography teaching, it did not have a significant effect. Electronic map operation and convenience of use has become a problem and how to better display the teaching content by the projection screen is also a problem. After the previous research of advantages and disadvantages in the electronic map, the author proposed innovative ideas and made Internet map used in geography classroom, aiming to indicate whether the argument’s advantages and disadvantages can increase students’interest and performance of geography or not, whether they can improve the spatial ability of the students. Due to the free feature and convenience of the Internet map, it can be easily used in the wireless Internet environment and more convenient with the advantage of the electronic map. This paper is divided into six chapters. Chapter One is the introduction, including research background and literature review, discusses the purpose, significance, hypothesis and content of the research; Chapter Two lists related concepts and theoretical support. Chapter three gives an analysis of PEP eighth grade teaching materials; Chapter Four is teaching experiment process and the specific teaching design; Chapter Five is the analysis of the experimental data; Chapter Six summarizes experimental results and puts forward the deficiencies and prospects of this study.Through the author’s 3-month teaching experiment, I artificially set the experimental class and the control class. I use online Internet map to make teaching design in geography classroom of the experimental class and make related research according to the different courses’contents. Studies have shown that the use of Internet map can significantly improve the interest of students in learning geography, thus significantly improve the students’ grades in geography. But the effect of enhancing:students’ spatial ability is not particularly significant.
