With a new round of basic education curriculum reform and the introduction of "basic education curriculum reform program(trial)", the curriculum resources as an important part of the curriculum reform, has drawn attention to the public. Curriculum resources play a fundamental role in the new curriculum reform and realizing the goal of the curriculum resources of the three dimensional objectives of new curriculum reform depends on the present situation of curriculum resources a lot. The development and utilization of curriculum resources are an important guarantee of the execution of the new curriculum reform. Without the support of curriculum resources, teaching will be difficult to achieve good results and the new curriculum reform has not made substantial breakthroughs.The red culture resources are the most valuable part in curriculum resources and it is the high quality of education and teaching resources. GanNan is the old revolutionary base areas, filled with red cultural resources which provide the basis and conditions for the use of red cultural resources in the area of geography teaching. If we can make good use of red cultural resources, it will be helpful to improve the students’ interest to master the knowledge and skills, to gain a sense of patriotic enthusiasm, to set up the correct world and life outlook. However, influenced by exam-oriented education and the concept of traditional teaching, in the geography teaching practice,teachers often pay attention to impart knowledge and skills,ignoring students’ emotion attitude and values. It is different with the goal of the Three-dimensional goal with the new curriculum reform and the concepts of all-round development. Therefore, we should take full advantage of the red cultural resources and it will be properly applied to the geography teaching to improve the overall quality of students for achieving the three-dimensional goal of geography teaching.In order to make better use of red cultural resources in geography teaching, this article uses the literature research method and social investigation method. Taking GanNan area as an example, the essay focuses on the application of the red cultural resources in geography teaching in high school. From the current situation of application of red cultural resources in GanNan region in geography teaching, this paper reviews the red cultural resources in GanNan area available. Upon the basis of investigation, I analyze the problems in the present stage which mainly displays in four aspects: the educational value of the red culture resources having not been given due attention, the sense of geography teachers using the red cultural resources consciousness weak, lacking of supports such as social supports family and other relevant aspects’ supports of the red cultural resources and having no idea to combine teaching organic with red cultural resources. Aiming at these problems, the author puts forward fourcountermeasures: first, formulate the corresponding planning, fully tap the education value of red culture resources; second, gain supports from family and other relevant aspects; third,teachers play the main role of geography school-based curriculum development; fourth, combine the red cultural resources with geography education. Among them, for how to combine geography education with red cultural resources, the author solves it through 4 aspects such as the geography classroom teaching, extracurricular teaching, campus culture and red geographical network learning and expounds the concrete path and method of application of red cultural resources in geography teaching. In order to explain the idea more exactly, the writer select one chapter, the coordinated development of tourism activities and geographical environment from textbook in senior high school geography, and take it for example, to make the teaching design of a class, hoping to illustrate how to use the red cultural resources in geography teaching in high school in the form of case.
