The three-dimensional curriculum target of the chemistry curriculum standards(version 2011) in the stage of compulsory education puts forward clearly: to maintain and enhance students’ curiosity about life and chemical phenomena in the nature, to motivate students to explore them, and to develop their interest in learning chemistry. It is essential to inspire and develop students’ interest in junior middle school chemistry teaching. This paper, on the basis of new curriculum reform of chemistry, mainly studies the influence of interest on rural junior high school students’ chemistry learning, drawing the conclusion that to cultivate students’ interest in chemistry learning is an important task for junior high school chemistry teachers. In combination of three years of teaching experience in rural junior high school, the author consults literature material, analyzes related domestic and foreign research situation and studies related educational psychology. Moreover, the author conducts a questionnaire survey on 245 grade nine students from Wan’an Middle School of Santai County,Xiaoxi Junior Middle School of Guang’an District and Nanxi Middle School of Wusheng county. By analyzing some questionnaires, the author gets an overall understanding about chemistry learning interest of students from the three rural junior high schools, and analyzes the factors that affect their interest in learning chemistry, and then puts forward some strategies to stimulate interest in chemistry learning of students from the rural junior high school.According to the results of the questionnaire, analysis is carried out from social, family, school, teacher and student. On one hand, little attention is paid to study in the rural society, together with rural left-behind children phenomenon, which kills the rural students’ interest in learning to a great deal. On the other hand, traditional education teaching mode widely exists among rural junior high school teachers who play great roles on students interest in learning chemistry. Subject teaching does not practice the concept of new curriculum reform nor reflect the students’ subjectivity, failing to stimulate their interest in learning. In addition to this, the learning methods of most students are not scientific and their learning habits are not good, resulting in unstable chemical learning interest.Cultivating rural junior high school students chemistry learning interest needs united efforts from all aspects. The society, school, family, teachers and students should work together to promote the development of chemistry learning interest, in which the chemistry teacher’s role is essential. First of all, chemistry teachers should love each student equally, so teachers and students will respect and love each other. Secondly, the chemistry teacher should change the traditional teaching ideas and teaching mode to practice the new curriculum idea of independence, cooperation, and exploration in classroom teaching, and build a harmonious class atmosphere to increase interest of chemistry subject and its applicability in life and production. Let students be willing to learn, and be happy to learn, cultivating students’ interest in learning chemistry. Thirdly, strengthen the cooperation between schools and families, pay attention to students’ personality development, and guide them to build correct values and make positive attribution when they are faced with difficulties. Encourage students often and trustthem, helping them to make progress in learning chemistry together.
