This paper is based on the hierarchy of needs theory, meaningful learning theory and achievement motivation theory, applying the method of literature research method and questionnaire survy method to study the chemistry learning interest of senior one students in the beginning, the middle and the end of the first fall semester. The research aslo includes the change of the degree of interest in chemistry learning, the influencing factors of chemistry learning interest, learning attitude and the chemistry learning habbits of the students of grade one.After the investigation of a semester, the survey results showed a gradual decline in the interest in chemistry from the senior one when students are very interested in the first semester to the end of the term while they are much less interested in chemistry learning. Behind the phenomenon, there are many factors that influence the students' interest in chemistry learning, such as the characteristics of high school chemistry, chemistry experiment, chemistry teachers and so on. The characteristics of high school chemistry, such as abstraction, complexity and heavy task, make the students in senior high school complain about the difficulty of chemistry. So students'interests in chemistry learning have been hit seriously.The chemical scores between the average class and the top class students, as well as boys and girls become divided,which brings to the differentiation of interest in chemistry. But students are very interested in chemical experiments, so they hope their chemistry teacher can demonstrate more chemistry experiments in classes. What's more, a lot of students enjoy humorous chemistry teachers. But nowadays chemistry teachers in senior school have duller classes ,which makes students less active in classes and their interests in chemistry learning lower and lower.According to the problems reflected from the survey, the author suggests that chemistry teachers should pay attention to developing the function of chemistry experiment, and improve their own personality charm to inspire students' interest in chemistry learning; should guide students to correctly understand the characteristics of chemistry in order to help students build confidence in learning chemistry. What's more, for the sake of students' performance in chemistry, teachers should cultivate students' good chemistry learning attitude and learning habbits.This study can provide some practical and effective strategies and measures for chemistry teachers to carry out class teaching, to help students develop their interest in chemistry learning, and to improve their academic achievements.
