In twentieth Century eighty years, people gradually increased the researches on vulnerability, especially since the new century, with the imminent to solve environmental problems, the relevant experts and scholars strengthen the research on vulnerability. The vulnerability of man-land system is the bearing capacity when the system is disturbed. The petroleum resource city refers to those who are built and promote because of oil, the oil industry occupies the main position of industry in the city. With the passage of time and the reduction of oil resources, excessive reliance on petroleum industry makes the city gradually showed defects. Combination of the above situations, this paper studies on the vulnerability of man-land system of petroleum resource city, and takes Dongying city as an example to do the empirical analysis. In this paper, through the analysis of the vulnerability of the man-land system, starting from the specific situation of petroleum resources city, it constructs the evaluation index system based on the two major characteristics of the oil city, they are the sensitivity and adaptability of man-land system. In order to make quantitative analysis, this paper uses the entropy method to determine the weight of each indicator, and establishes the evaluation model.Taking Dongying city as an example, it analyses the temporal variation characteristics of the vulnerability of the man-land system since 2005 to 2012.The result shows that the man-land system vulnerability of Dongying city is reducing year by year, however, its vulnerability grades are still in the senior. Through obstacle analysis for each index, we can find out the main influence factors, and they are wastewater emissions, SO2 emissions, the proportion of the oil industry practitioners, crude oil production and so on, the results show that the degree of dependence on oil has a direct impact on the vulnerability of the man-land system. Finally it puts forward some countermeasures and suggestions to reduce the vulnerability of the man-land system, hoping to provide a reference for petroleum city economic transformation.
