Ushinski former Soviet educator pointed out: "not the slightest interest in compulsory learning, will stifle the desire of students to explore the truth." Interest is the best teacher student, students have interest in learning can improve learning efficiency, increase motivation. The new curriculum standards reform clear: promote independent learning, cooperative learning and inquiry-based learning, emphasizing the students to learn geography useful life, for lifelong development of useful geography, and to build an open geography. Thus, in recent years, many teachers began to actively explore how to motivate and develop students’ interest in learning, trying to ’me’ this passive learning mode into "I want to learn" active learning mode, so as to promote overall development of students.In this study, starting from the research background and significance, after domestic and foreign interest in learning about and interest in learning geography and literature related to education, psychology books to sort out, analyze the present situation of research in related fields. Followed by questionnaires and interviews and other research methods, analysis and discussion of the status of high school students’ interest in learning geography and its influencing factors. Finally, for high school students to stimulate interest in learning geography has been teaching design, and from different angles parents, teachers, students’ and teachers’ teaching techniques to explore effective strategies to stimulate students’ interest in learning geography.
