College teacher performance appraisal has always been the hot spot of the academic research in China. Teachers is the foundation of the higher education,to improve the quality of higher education must be to build high quality teachers. Set up perfect and reasonable teachers’ performance appraisal system in colleges and universities on the basis of colleges and universities own development goals to improve teachers’ level of business plays an important role. College teachers performance appraisal is based on the university’s own development goals, for college teachers in the actual teaching, research and service evaluation, and the evaluation results feedback to teachers, in order to achieve the purpose of raise the level of their work.This paper widely collected the detailed literature from home and abroad to our country university teachers performance appraisal of university teachers performance appraisal system with the United States made an in-depth analysis and discussion, and selected the comprehensive research universities in our country is relatively representative universities in lanzhou university,and a comprehensive research university in the United States representative universities in Harvard University as a specific case, through the college teachers’ performance appraisal system between China and the United States of comparative analysis, find out the significant problems of college teachers’ performance appraisal system, draw lessons from American university teachers performance appraisal system of beneficial ingredients, put forward to solve the problems of college teachers’ performance appraisal system optimization scheme.Through the analysis of data, this study concluded that get to some more valuable research results. First of all, through the comparative study and combined with the concrete case,extensively collected and compiled a lot of about China’s university and American university teachers performance appraisal of the performance data, the data for future researchers will be a larger reference value. Secondly, the author collected a lot of about China and the United States university teachers performance appraisal of relevant data, through the comparison between the two, with the specific actual cases, in the assessment of teachers in colleges and universities to make an in-depth analysis and discussion, the problems existing in the college teachers performance assessment in China, the United States advanced science part of the college teachers’ performance appraisal system is introduced into our country university teachers performance appraisal, to constantly improve and optimize the purpose of college teachers’ performance appraisal system in our country. Finally, diagnose problems, combining the actual experience of American university teachers performance appraisal and according to the specific school situationin colleges and universities, puts forward Suggestions to improve the problem and the solution to solve the problem.
