In the current education reform, it is important to promote education equity and the balanced development between urban and rural education. And it is a vital link to improve the quality of education, narrow the regional gap, and strengthen the construction of teachers’ team. With the advent of the big data era and the development of educational information, teachers’ comprehensive quality should be put forward to a higher level. The network information has become an essential part of teachers’ teaching and scientific research. Promoting teachers’ ability to obtain network information can not only improve their teaching level, but also play as a supplement to the teachers’ continuing education,which not only provides convenience for the teachers in relatively developed regions to access to a variety of network information, but also offers a platform to help the teachers in relatively backward regions to obtain information. However, at present, it is difficult for the poor regions’ middle school teachers to obtain information. Therefore, it has an important theoretical and practical significance to study these teachers’ information acquisition ability. And certainly it also has the great practical significance to study the ability to get information of the middle school English teachers, an important group of middle school teachers.This article, on the basis of literature research, describes the basic theory related and defines the related concepts. In the course of study, by investigating the English teachers’ network information acquisition ability in Ganxian County, Jiangxi Province, a national poverty county, with research methods of questionnaire surveys and interviews. I have made in-depth studies and drawn the following conclusions: Ganxian County’s middle school English teachers demonstrate the following problems: the lack of ability to apply information technology, weak awareness of network information, the lack of the basic knowledge about network information resources and lack of skills of information retrieval and information identification; Most English teachers still use the traditional way of acquiring information; the lack of consciousness to get information with network; the school leadership don’t attach great importance to improving teachers’ ability to get network information and they almost don’t put any incentive policies to encourage teachers to improve this kind of ability; The network condition of middle school Englishteachers is poor and these teachers lack network information resources; middle school English teachers’ training effect is so poor that they hardly improve much of their ability to get the network information. By analyzing the factors influencing middle school English teachers’ ability in poor counties to get network information, under the guide of the spirit of " National Medium and Long term Education Reform and Development Program(2010-2020) ", combined with the characteristics of national poverty counties,we can improve the situation by the following four aspects: raising awareness, changing concepts of education; strengthening the construction of the teacher team; strengthening the construction of the school system and strengthening the construction of network information resources. According to the above-mentioned content, I put forward several advice to enhance middle school English teachers’ ability to obtain network information in poverty counties.
